Optimal tuning of PID controller for speed control of DC motor using equilibrium optimizer

The efficient and smooth operation of direct current (DC) motors is high significance in various industrial applications. This study proposed a recent optimization technique, named equilibrium optimizer (EO) for optimal tuning the parameters proportional integral derivative (PID) controller to provide accurate robust control DC motors. Mathematical modelling motor was carried out Simulink environment using basic electric machine theory. Conventional Ziegler-Nichols (ZN) technique initially designed tune PID parameters, an model based on minimization integrated absolute error EO-PID formulated subsequently implemented optimize tuned obtained ZN-PID controller. Simulation results showed that there significant reduction terms rise time, settling overshoot mean square as compared technique. result also gives better dynamic performance it eliminates oscillatory response common with most conventional techniques. this have established EO effective can therefore be used by operators
